Project Activities
The TRANSFoodMERS project integrates research, educational tool development, and training activities to promote sustainable food systems through game-based learning (GBL). These activities aim to increase awareness, build skills, and foster innovation in sustainability education.
Data Collection & Educational Tools Development
- Research & Knowledge Gathering β A thorough study will be conducted to analyze youth awareness, behaviors, and educational needs related to sustainable food consumption and production. This research will serve as the foundation for the projectβs learning materials and game-based tools.
- Educational Guide Development β A comprehensive and interactive e-guide will be created to provide youth workers, educators, and young people with engaging, easy-to-understand resources on food sustainability, climate action, and responsible consumption. This guide will integrate real-world case studies, best practices, and actionable insights to enhance learning.
- Game-Based Learning (GBL) Development β Three interactive educational tools will be designed to transform sustainability education into an engaging experience:
- π² Board Game β A strategic learning experience where players navigate food system challenges and make decisions about sustainable food choices.
- π± Digital Serious Game β A simulation-based environment where users experiment with sustainable consumption and explore its impact on the environment.
- πΏ Outdoor Games Guide β A collection of experiential activities designed to connect youth with nature and promote real-world sustainability actions.
- Online Learning Platform β A dedicated digital hub will be developed to provide access to educational resources, interactive discussions, and sustainability challenges. This platform will serve as a community space for youth workers, educators, and young learners to share insights and collaborate on sustainability initiatives.
Training & Learning Activities
- Training Workshops β A series of hands-on training sessions will be organized for youth workers and educators, equipping them with the skills and methodologies to integrate game-based learning into sustainability education. These workshops will provide practical training on how to use the board game, digital game, and outdoor activities effectively.
- Youth Learning Labs β Young people will participate in interactive learning sessions, where they will explore sustainability topics, engage in problem-solving challenges, and develop actionable solutions for responsible food consumption and climate action.
- Community Engagement & Awareness Campaigns β TRANSFoodMERS will organize awareness events, challenges, and collaborative activities that encourage young people to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts. These events will foster active citizenship, youth-led initiatives, and policy discussions on sustainable food systems.
Through these structured activities, TRANSFoodMERS ensures that sustainability education is interactive, engaging, and impactful, empowering youth to take an active role in shaping a more sustainable future.
